Pawsitively Professional is in need of compassionate, mature, and trustworthy people to join our petsitting team on a part-time basis.

We are growing rapidly and will be in need of folks who can walk dogs or care for cats a few days each week. While we are hiring for all petsitting time blocks (which range from 6:50 am to 9:30 pm), we are especially in need of applicants who are willing and able to complete early morning visits (prior to 9 am).

While we strive to set the schedule in advance, the nature of our business requires us to be flexible to our clients’ needs. Sometimes, visits may be scheduled with short-term notice (within 12-24 hours of the scheduled pet care assignment). You will be responsible for blocking off your own calendar as to times and days when you’re not available for these assignments.

We serve downtown Sarasota (zip code: 34236) and if you live in the downtown area, this role may be ideal for you. Otherwise, driving to various assignments may not benefit you.

Additionally we have a need for caring and responsible folks who can host pets in their home, or can go to the pets’ homes to stay overnight.  You would not be required to do both pet sitting and dog walking, however, it is a PLUS if you can and want to do both. 

The ideal candidate has a natural affinity towards dogs or cats and is both affectionate and responsible with them. People skills and customer service awareness are essential to your success.  If you like animals, but not people, this is not the right fit for you.

Requirements:

• For dog walking roles: Able to walk outdoors in heat, rain, or other weather conditions for at least 25 continuous minutes.
• Able to lift at least 10 pounds without assistance.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Prior experience caring for dogs and/or cats.
• Ability to use your computer and/or smart phone to track services, send updates to clients, and manage your schedule.

Pay & Logistics:

• Pay varies per service type.
• You’ll be paid once per month via check for all services rendered, plus tips!
• Your scheduling is up to you — you are responsible for submitting all time off requests or black out dates.
• This is a 1099 independent contractor role, meaning you are responsible for withholding your own taxes.
